In its simplest form, 'Ramblings' is a series of 500-word general interest / humor / philosophy essays written by singer/songwriter and so-called Gen-X'er Lee Totten. At it's heart, 'Ramblings' is one man's expression of his struggle to reconcile the restlessness of youth with the responsibility of adulthood in a world that clearly went insane a long time ago. Predominately humorous but occasionally serious, 'Ramblings' is a first-person account of what it's like to have grown up in the era of Reagonmics, Gulf-War trading cards and the ever-present threat of complete nuclear annihilation at the hands of the evil empire formerly known as the Soviet Union.

'Ramblings' first appeared in the newspaper of the Minnechaug Regional High School when Lee was a senior, and continued through four years of college where, in addition to learning important things like how many scorpion bowls at lunch would make advertising an interesting class, he also managed to secure an English degree with a minor in Philosophy. 'Ramblings' in those days truly was - several thousand word missives on topics as wide-ranging as freedom of expression, the Gulf War and, of course, Santa Claus.

Upon graduation, 'Ramblings' was retired as Lee went off and became a musician - he made a few records, toured the country, and drank a lot of Jagermeister. But with the dawn of the new millennium, Lee longed for a forum other than a three minute pop song in which to express himself. Thus 'Ramblings' was reborn.

Now in it's fourth full year online, 'Ramblings' is distributed every other Tuesday (more or less) to a devoted fan base of subscribers that numbers in the thousands. Well, hundreds. Okay, mom and dad anyway.
